Triceratops Frill — Hell Creek Formation (66 Million Years Ago)

This authentic Triceratops frill fragment (1 3/4″) comes from one of the most famous dinosaurs of all time — the three-horned giant of the Late Cretaceous. The frill formed part of the massive bony shield that protected its neck and may have been used for display, defense, or communication within the herd.

Recovered from the Hell Creek Formation of North Dakota, this fossil dates to approximately 66 million years ago, near the very end of the Age of Dinosaurs. Its preserved texture shows the distinctive vascular patterns characteristic of Triceratops bone.
